Kevin Dunne, MD Dual Fellowship Trained | Hand Surgery | Shoulder/Elbow Surgery
Dr. Dunne is an orthopedic surgeon with dual fellowship training in both Hand Surgery and Shoulder/Elbow Surgery. His practice focuses on non-surgical and surgical treatment of upper extremity injuries and conditions in both adults and children from fingertip to shoulder. He collaborates with patients to develop individualized plans to help them return to the activities they love. If surgery is needed, Dr. Dunne is experienced in a wide array of techniques including microsurgery, minimally invasive surgery like arthroscopy, and complex joint replacement.
Dr. Dunne grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and completed undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame. He subsequently attended medical school at Northwestern University. He completed residency in orthopedic surgery at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital (Corewell Health), recently named the #1 orthopedic hospital in Michigan. He then completed subspecialty fellowship training in Hand Surgery at Florida Orthopaedic Institute and Shoulder/Elbow Surgery at the University of Florida. He has returned to Chicago to bring the highest level of orthopedic upper extremity care to his patients.
Dr. Dunne’s philosophy is to treat each patient like a family member. His goal is to ensure each individual patient understands the condition and treatment options and to provide the utmost care along the way.
Dr. Dunne has published extensively in orthopedic research journals, and his research contributions have been presented internationally. He serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He remains active in societies such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, and American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
In his free time, Dr. Dunne enjoys playing sports, violin, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
